Privacy Policy

This policy describes how A-Comm Inc. ("A-Comm," "we," "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit a-comm.ai or use the free Business Discoverability Scanner. It does not cover data that any business you scan collects from its own visitors or customers — that relationship is governed by that business's own privacy policy.

What We Collect

Information you give us. When you use the free Business Scanner, we collect the name, email address, and business website URL you submit. We use this information to run the scan and email you the report.

Information collected automatically. When you visit our website or run a scan, we receive your IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, pages visited, and timestamps. This information is used to operate the service, prevent abuse, and apply rate limits.

Information from third parties. When you run a scan, we look up publicly available information about the business you submitted from sources such as Google Places and Foursquare. We do not send your personal information to these sources; we send the business identifier you provided.

Categories under California law. The categories of personal information we collect are: identifiers (name, email address, IP address); internet or network activity (pages visited, scan history, request metadata); and inferences drawn from the above (for example, which discoverability gaps are most relevant to the website you submitted). We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information, biometric data, precise geolocation, or information from children under 16.

How We Use Your Data

We use your data to: deliver scan reports and any related follow-up; operate, secure, and improve the A-Comm.ai website and Scanner; respond to support requests; and, with your consent, send occasional product updates. Marketing emails always include an unsubscribe link; transactional emails (such as the scan report you requested) do not, because they are required to deliver what you asked for.

We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not allow third parties to use your data for their own purposes.

Service Providers

We share personal information with service providers who help us operate A-Comm.ai. Each operates under a written agreement that limits use of your data to providing the service. We share information with the following categories of providers:

We may also disclose information when required by law, to enforce our terms, to protect the rights, property, or safety of A-Comm or others, or in connection with a corporate transaction such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. If a transfer occurs, the recipient will be bound to this policy or provide notice of any material change.

Cookies and Tracking

We use only essential cookies. A session cookie keeps you signed in; it is set as httpOnly and secure so it cannot be read by client-side scripts. We may also set short-lived cookies for CSRF protection and rate-limit state. We do not use advertising cookies, third-party trackers, or cross-site tracking pixels.

We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. Browsers that send a GPC header are treated as having opted out of any sale or sharing of personal information. We do not respond differently to "Do Not Track" headers because there is no consensus on their meaning, but GPC is honored as a valid opt-out under California law.

If we add analytics in the future, we will update this policy and provide a clear opt-out mechanism before any non-essential tracking begins.

Data Retention

Scan results and the email address you provided are retained for as long as needed to deliver the scan, support follow-up on it, and analyze and improve the Scanner, and for a reasonable period thereafter. You may request deletion of your data at any time by emailing privacy@a-comm.ai. Some records may be retained where required by law or for fraud prevention.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights:

These rights are available to residents of California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, Iowa, Delaware, Tennessee, Indiana, and other U.S. states with comprehensive privacy laws in effect.

How to exercise your rights: email privacy@a-comm.ai from the address you used to run a scan. We will verify your identity by confirming the request from that email address and may request additional information for higher-sensitivity requests. You may use an authorized agent; we will require written proof of authorization. We respond within 45 days, with one 45-day extension if reasonably necessary. There is no charge for these requests.

Security

We protect your data with industry-standard safeguards including TLS encryption in transit, encryption at rest, isolated infrastructure, and rate limiting to prevent abuse. No system is perfectly secure. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and applicable regulators as required by law.

Children's Privacy

A-Comm.ai is intended for business users and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact privacy@a-comm.ai and we will delete it.

International Users

A-Comm.ai is operated from the United States and is intended for U.S.-based users. If you access the service from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be processed in the United States. We do not currently target the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or other regions with separate data-protection regimes.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. For material changes that affect how we use your data, we will provide a prominent notice on the website at least 30 days before the change takes effect.
